Domain Landing Page Options

Where to point a domain name for sale has been often debated. Some say parking for pay has value, and in the end, it really only has value if you have a high traffic domain. The question you still need to ask is if there are better ways to monetize that traffic than paid parking.

If you simply want to display a page that tells people that the domain is for sale, most of the domain marketing places (Sedo, Afternic, etc.) offer templates that can give your prospect information as well as pricing.

If you want to have more control over the story you tell about your domain name, I recommend using Lead Pages. Lead Pages is a hosted software solution that allows you to very simply create landing pages. Even better, they have a ready-made domain name for sale template and they integrate with WordPress. What I did was create a generic “domain for sale” landing page with my contact information to point my domain names for sale to. This was the down and dirty approach, but if you have the time, I recommend creating a separate page for each domain name you are selling, which will allow you to give as much information to your prospective buyers.
